Foodstuffs’ 22 September report described a route for smaller food brands to meet buyers. Attendance did not guarantee a place on every supermarket shelf.

A chance to meet the people choosing ranges

Foodstuffs reported on 22 September 2026 that 86 food and beverage suppliers had attended its Auckland Artisan Expo at Landing Drive. The event brought producers together with New World and PAK’nSAVE owners and buyers.

Foodstuffs described an opportunity for emerging businesses to introduce products and build relationships.[1]

Orders were one possible outcome

In the release, Sidekick Soda co-founder Fiona Tomlinson said the company had received orders from several stores it spoke with at the event. That was one supplier’s account, not a published total for all attendees.

Feedback and new contacts were other reported benefits. Attendance did not guarantee nationwide listings.[1]

An expo is not a live stock list

The release did not establish resulting order volumes or current store-by-store availability.

It illustrates one route for smaller brands to reach grocery buyers.[1]

Check the product before making a special trip

If a new local product interests you, confirm that your chosen store actually stocks it and check the pack size and current price. An event photo or supplier announcement is a starting point for that enquiry.

Compare it with alternatives that serve the same purpose. A new brand’s story can matter to a buying decision, while value still depends on what you will use and pay.[1]
