Kale Waishing

A must have in the pantry, our New Zealand-grown shallots are part of the onion family, having a lighter onion flavour with a hint of garlic. Waishing kale is a tender Asian variety of kale with broad, deep green leaves and a milder, less bitter flavour than common curly kale. It is excellent stir-fried with garlic and a splash of soy sauce or oyster sauce for a quick and nutritious side dish. The leaves can also be shredded into salads after a brief massage with dressing to soften their texture, or added to soups and broths during the last few minutes of cooking.
