Awarded a Gold medal in the 2020 New World Wine Awards, originally from the northern Rhone Valley in France ‘vee-on-yay’ is not a wine we see often in New Zealand. Although it’s dry, this is a gorgeous accompaniment to citrus based dishes, stewed apple and apricot, as well as leafy aromatic herbs like basil and tarragon. Like Chardonnay on steroids, a sort of wine for all seasons. Ripe peach, ginger and spicy floral notes with a hint of vanilla. The palate is creamy and generous, long lasting with balanced fruit flavour and acid.
